For our first week I'm going to keep it simple (don't get used to that, *grin*)

So please this week introduce yourself to the class, tell us a bit about yourself, your family if you wish, your likes and dislikes and what your future career ambitions might be. Whatever you do, make this assignment all about you.

Kensington Homework Week 1 Year 89 - Mrs McCarthy - Creative Writing/Introductions
Hello everyone,
I'll be your new teacher from ages 12 - 15 for Kensington. I'm Mrs McCarthy several of you know many of my children already and I've heard your names and what not via my kids. I look forward to meeting new faces along with seeing the kids I'm familiar with. Oh excuse me, young adults.
Since I'm new to this, feedback is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to come to me with any questions you may have.
To start off the homework this year I'd like to know a little bit about you and what you did this vacation. This part can be short or long, your choice - but here comes the work, since super heroes and bad guys/girls are all the rage these days - put a twist on your vacation and who you are. After your initial introduction write a piece on revamping your holiday as a super hero or bad guy/girl - this is a creative writing assignment geared towards your age group. Make me believe it, thrill your audience with your story.
Let us begin ...
Please comment on this blog when you have completed your assignment so I may correct it. Thank you.
Introductions
A warm welcome to all my students here at Kensington. I do hope you all had a restful holiday season and are looking forward to the new school year. As is tradition the first week's homework always revolves around everyone getting to know one another a little bit better. As many of you know I'm Mrs. McCarthy some have been rumored to say I've been here since the dawn of time but in reality I'm not that old, you can clearly see that by my nearly perfect complexion.
Your homework for this week is quite simple, introduce yourself to everyone with the basics: Who are you? Perhaps a few details about your family, your favorite hobbies and what you hope to achieve this coming year. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at any time.
When you have completed your homework please do not forget to comment on this blog, thank you.

Homework Week 1 - Kensington - Introductions Yr94Let me start my introducing myself to the new students here at Kensington. I'm Mrs McCarthy and I have been teaching here for several years now at Kensington and am looking forward to getting to know you all better.
For those of you who are already acquainted with me, welcome back and I truly hope your holiday season was an enjoyable one.
As usual, the first week is just to get you all settled in and acquainted with the new students for the most part. So I kindly request that you all take sometime to write an introduction letter about who you are.
*senses the eye rolls from a few students sitting in the back of the class* Yes that means even the returning students. *coughs and mentions a few names that might be pretending not to listen*
[image=https://latenightsandlollipops.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/hellowelcome_blog.png?w=558]
As usual please comment on this blog when you have finished your assignment so that I can comment. If you have any questions or concerns I hope you all know you can always come to me to discuss things. Ideas for assignments or if you just need a teacher to talk with. I'm always around to assist.
On that note, let's get to work and get writing!
Homework Week 1 - IntroductionsWelcome everyone to yet another year at Kensington! I am happy to have you all here in my class some of you already know me and for those who do not I'm Mrs McCarthy and I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.
Now I know for the returning students introduction day is a bit boring, but think about the new students okay? As they don't know you and it all might seem a bit intimidating to the newer students. Remember once upon a time you were the new kid too.
So to get us all acquainted with one another and feeling comfortable I would appreciate it if you could all write a little bit about yourselves for this weeks assignment. Feel free to share your hobbies, interests, favorite music, stories about yourself - let us get to know the real you!
As usual please comment on this blog to let me know you have completed your assignment so that I can comment on it. Thanks!
Homework Week 1 Kensington Year 96Welcome to class everyone,
It is good to see a lot of familiar faces along with plenty of new students. I am looking forward to hearing about everyone's holidays and getting to know all the new students.
For your first week's assignment it is the dreaded introductions week, but in addition to introducing yourself I'd like you to pick a famous person from history and tell us why you would identify with that person. Is there a famous politician you feel that you have a lot in common with? Or a famous actor or actress? Perhaps a famous scientist?
You can even take the assignment a little further and pretend you are introducing yourself as that famous person from history. Get creative and a little crazy!
As usual when you have completed your assignment do not forget to comment on this blog! Thank you!
Mrs McCarthy
Homework Week 2 - Artistic interpretation Kensington Yr 96This week we are going to focus once again on our artistic skills. Now, I'm quite sure many of you are going to dislike this assignment so I'll sit back and put my feet up and listen to you all moan and groan.
This week you will need to either sculpt, draw, paint or paper maché an image of yourself. How do you see yourself artistically? This can open up a lot of self reflection and realization of how we actually see ourselves and as much as many of you are dreading this in the end you might surprise yourselves with this assignment.
But if you think the fun stops there you are wrong. It isn't just about making imagery I also expect an explanation about your vision of yourself. I know my house is getting toilet papered and my car will be egged this Halloween for this one.
When you have completed your assignment as usual please remember to comment on this blog. Thanks!
Homework Week 2 - Kensington - Book Reviews! Now those of you who grumbled about introductions last week are really going to dislike me this week. Nope, no pizza party, or artistic hub bub this week we are going to do some hefty work and unless you have a doctor's note you aren't getting out of this one.
Each of you will receive a book from me this week and that means it's book review time!
[You can make up any book review you like I'm just randomly handing out books to every student this week as I have room in my inventory.]
So put on your favorite music, grab your favorite snack and get to it! I cannot wait to read your reviews! Remember reading is fun, expand your mind and live the story!
As usual when you have completed your assignment please do not forget to comment on this blog so that I can look over your reports!
Kensington Week 2 - Arts and Crafts DayWelcome everyone to Arts and Crafts Day! Now I know I can already hear the moans of some of you who claim you aren't creative and wha wha it's too hard. Well put on your big boy girls and shoes and get to it.
Art can be whatever you want it to be. It can be as simple as a sticker on a rock. If that is art in your eyes, so be it. I'm not here to judge your style, I'm here to help you see your full potential and support you along the way. Yes, Mrs McCarthy and her positive speeches (I can read lips from the back of the class you know).
Challenge yourself if you will to create your greatest masterpiece. Bake a cake for the class with your Mom or Dad. Art comes in many shapes and forms so don't worry about it being the next Picasso as truly he wasn't my favorite artist to begin with.
As usual when you have completed your assignment please comment on this blog.
Mrs McCarthy
Homework Kensington week 2 - Arts, crafts just be creative!I hope everyone had a good weekend and is ready to dive into another week of homework!
This week we are going to get creative, show me your artistic side. Now some of you are going to say you are not artistic - yeah right. Do you have the ability to crumple up a piece of paper into a ball? Yup, that makes you an artist by today's standards. We are not talking about being Picasso here. We are talking about you creating whatever you see as art. You have an ink pad? Great, make me a thumb print! Not so hard right?
Art and creativity is in the eye of the beholder. Are you a musician? Are you a dancer? You love science? Great! Let's see your stuff! Step out of that box that society puts us in, create and be free!
[image=https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSDHpn6qgBTQnun57xEU90WoF_iB2-pQFB1cVWlqUuwXV6l0ZVR]
When you have finished your homework please comment on this blog so I can have a lot at all of your masterpieces. Remember this is about you and what makes you feel alive and what inspires you!
Homework Week II Kensington - Arts and CraftsI hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and is ready to jump into their homework this week. *Grin* I thought we would work on some various arts and crafts this week. I tried to pick a few neutral projects but of course you are always welcome to come up with some of your own ideas and share them with the class. This can include bringing yummy treats to class that you made at home.
Below are a few examples of projects which I think would be fun to design. Please feel free to share your finished projects with the class. If you have any questions, as always you all know how to reach me by now.
Fun with duct tape! (Yeah I am probably going to regret this idea).
Fun with thumb tacks! (I am sure I'm going to regret this suggestion.)
Tie Dye T-shirts (not much can go wrong here, right?)
Fun with t-shirts and bleach (You all will be wearing protective gear if you choose this project, no lawsuits!)
When you have completed your project of choice, please comment on this blog.
Have fun and good luck,
Mrs McCarthy
Week 2: History Report -
Now that you have all had a little bit of time to settle into a routine here at school it's time to dive into our homework full force. Let's take a trip back in time and learn a little about history! The foundation of our society as a hole was built upon a diverse group of people throughout history. Your homework this week is to simply pick someone from history and tell us a little bit about that person and why they were so important to our modern society. What have we learned from this person?
A few examples of important people in history would be: William Shakespeare, Abraham Lincoln, Charles Darwin, Julius Caesar, Albert Einstein, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Genghis Khan, Joan of Arc, Florence Nightingale, Amelia Earhart and many others.
When you have completed your assignment please do not forget to comment on this blog, thank you.
Homework Week 2 - Kensington Creative Writing and ActingThis week's homework will involve setting your imagination free. I'll provide you with a short dialogue and I would like you to add to it, make it your own, make it whatever you want it to be. Be creative and have fun, fill it with emotion, have fun trying to act it out with your friends if you wish. Put yourself on center stage! Feel free to change the names to suit your own needs. There is no length requirement, just write what comes to mind.
Here is your dialogue:
“Jane called me earlier today. She quit her job,” Bob said.
“Does mom know? If she hears that her favorite is out of a job, she’ll freak!” Regan dropped her fork and knife on her plate with such force that the clatter turned heads at the nearby tables.
... Now take it from here!
As usual please comment here when you have completed your homework. If you have any questions, find yourself struggling or just need someone to talk with, my door or inbox is always open.
Enjoy your assignment,
Mrs McCarthy
Kensington Homework Week 2 Year 89 - Mrs McCarthy - Economics and you!Welcome back everyone, our 2nd week of homework is going to be slightly more difficult than last week. Get your pens and notebooks out!
Alongside looking at the theories and issues of economics, this course addresses the practical ways in which businesses address these concerns through management styles and techniques, to give students a complete impression of the way a company operates in the modern economy.
First off - please describe for me what the term economics means.
I'd like you to pick any city or country in the world and look at their issues with economy. Pick one issue from their list and think about any idea that comes to you on how you think it could be improved.
-
Bonus, using your super hero power from last week, how could you improve the economy of your city or country of choice. This part of the homework is optional.
Homework Week II Kensington - Show off your art skills -This year I'm trying to base a lot of the homework around the interests of you - yes you the students. So for our homework this week, I'd like to see your artistic side. Be it a drawing, something you have created, sewn, dressed your dog up in, whatever.
Please tell us why you made your creation, did it take long? Did you enjoy it? Express yourself!
[image=http://amusine.typepad.com/.a/6a013486047ef2970c01761767b5a8970c-pi]
In addition to your art, I'd like to hear your favorite song at the moment - after all music is art too! Good luck and as usual please remember to comment on this blog when you have completed your assignment!
Homework Week 1 - Kensington - Introductions Yr94Let me start my introducing myself to the new students here at Kensington. I'm Mrs McCarthy and I have been teaching here for several years now at Kensington and am looking forward to getting to know you all better.

Kensington Year 102 Homework Introduce YourselfSo many news faces to get to know this year. I'm very happy to see you all here at Kensington. For those of you who may not know me I'm Mrs McCarthy and I've been here some say since the dawn of time. I am looking forward to getting to know you all this coming year and catching up with those of you who were in my class in previous years. I do hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and are ready to hit the books.
As is tradition our first week always revolves around introductions. So if you could please introduce yourself to the class, perhaps with your name and a few interests that would be appreciated. In addition any suggestions for the upcoming year, or just ideas you want to share with the class are more than welcome in your introduction homework.
When you have completed your assignment please do remember to comment on this blog so I can take a look at your assignment and comment, thank you!
Homework Week 2 - Kensington - Astonomy, The Universe - what's out there?Diving right into the tough stuff, this week's homework will focus on astronomy, so pick a star any star, pick a planet any planet, flip a coin and make your choice. Your assignment is to report upon any star, constellation, planet or interesting phenomenon found way up there.
A general report should include your usual, how, what and where questions with answers if possible. Of course if you decide to do a report on UFO's or alien phenomenon explaining the report might involve a little imagination versus actual facts.
As usual please remember when you have completed your assignment to comment on this blog, thank you.

Homework week 3 - Business Challenge KensingtonThis weeks homework will revolve around setting up a business, getting funding and/or setting up a product and pitching a sale for your product or business to the class.
Now you are all probably sitting there having a panic attack, don't worry I am not expecting you all to become business tycoons and worship me for leading you onto a path of wealth and fame.
Have fun with it, think about what kind of business or product you would like to own and how you would do it. Where would you get the money for this? Keep it simple, enjoy it and be creative!
Week 3: Book Reports -
Since you all handed in such marvelous history reports I decided all my dear book worms here would just love another assignment that you can all dig your fingers deeply into. This week you will all receive a book from me and with that you can choose a suitable book for your age range that you would like to write about.
A book report should contain the following information:
- the type of book report you are writing
- the title of the book
- the author of the book
- the time when the story takes place
- the location where the story takes place
- the names and a brief description of each of the characters you will be discussing
- many quotations and examples from the book to support your opinions
Homework Week III Kensington - Dancing/SportsLast week Mrs Ready's class showed off their dance skills and everyone had a lot of fun. While this might not be the most traditional homework, I thought I might try something like that with you all this week.
So show off your best dance moves, your best moves when it comes to sports, or building something perhaps? Have any fun footage of you building a dog house? You were all so creative last week with your visions or art, let's see some of those physical skills now!
You can share your favorite song again if you like a song that goes well with your homework! I kind of doubt dancing queen by Abba would make a good choice for saw wood and building a log cabin. *Grin*
As usual please comment on this blog when you have completed your assignment! Thanks!
Homework Week III Kensington - Letter to my past selfHello everyone,
I trust you all are here and ready to study hard? *looks around the room attentively*
Before we get to the homework I want to remind you all about Zombie Days! It's a great way to socialize and have fun! You can find more information about it on the forum!
★[CityEvents] London's Zombie Fest y92 Sports (2283206.1)
★[CityEvents] London's Zombie Fest y92 Recipe party (2283208.1)
Now, onto the homework. As we age, we often forget the things we did when we were younger, so I'd like you to write a letter to your past self. Perhaps a little warning to your younger self about things you should not do. You know, "I should have listened to Mom when she told me my tongue would stick to metal if I licked it in the wintertime?" *Remembers removing her daughters stuck tongue from the car door handle when she was 5*
Or telling yourself remember to stay in school? Or even just a fond memory you want to remember forever. When done as always comment on this blog to let me know and then seal your letter to your past self and keep it for 10 or 20 years, it will be something fun to look back on!
Until next week,
Mrs McCarthy
Homework Kensington Week 3 - Helping out in the communityI'm stepping out of the box a bit this week (teachers can learn new things too!) and assigning you each the task of spending sometime with an elderly person this week. This can be your own grandparent or go to your local retirement home and ask to volunteer for the day.
I am hoping each of you will take away from this a beautiful experience and lesson. Believe it or not, one day you will be elderly too. Make a difference as one day you will appreciate it if someone does this for you.
In addition based on our creativity week last week, I'd like you to pick a classmate and share your creative side with them, be it via music, something you made, showing off your dance moves or whatever. It's how we socialize, give of ourselves and learn to branch out. You will need these social skills as you go out in the world soon.
When you have completed your homework please comment on this blog so I can take a look at it. Thanks!
Enjoy yourselves and I know some of you might have difficulty with this, so shoot me a message if this is something too out of the box for you, so we can discuss it in person.

Homework Week 4 - Kensington - Creative WritingWeek 4: Creative Writing -
Two weeks in a row of heavy assignments and I can tell all of you are in need of stretching your limbs and imaginations. This week's assignment revolves all around you! It's time to get creative and write a story, a song or a poem that reflects upon something in your life.
A few tips when writing about yourself:
Decide if you want to use third or first person. ...
Don't ramble. ...
Stay humble. ...
Use your own voice. ...
Don't try to be funny if you're not funny. ...
Be honest.
When you have completed your assignment please do not forget to comment on this blog, thank you.
Homework Week 3 Kensington Yr 101Dear Vlada,
As I sit here with an old fashioned ball point pen taking it to a tattered restaurant napkin I am about to provide you with the wisdom of my current 44 years of age. I hope when you open this in ten to twenty years you can reflect back on the advice I'm about to give you and can be proud of the things you have done.
Love yours truly,
Me.
This is your assignment this week everyone to write your future self a letter about your dreams and visions for the future based on your life experiences thus far. What do you hope to be doing in twenty years, remind yourself not to make certain mistakes and not to judge a book by it's cover. I hope you enjoy writing something to your future self and I look forward to reading all of your letters.
As usual when you have completed your assignment please do remember to comment on this blog, thank you!
Homework Week 4 Creative Writing Year 101 KensingtonYou wake up, your throat aches and a breeze blows through the room. A heavy scent of ash fills the air as you sit up trying to establish what is going on.
The Year is 101 and you have woken up to a Zombie Apocalypse. This is your story to write over the next twenty four hours of your life.
Will you fortify yourself indoors for the next twenty four hours? Go out and seek your loved one's? Is the only thing in your house one pack of a instant stale noodles and a cap full of questionable dish soap because you are a University student living off of your parents meager incomes?
Tell your tale, we want to hear your survival story for Day of the Dead.
As per usual when you have completed the assignment please do remember to comment on this blog, thank you
Science is fun! Kensington Homework Week 4Now so far we have had a lot of homework which has been about social skills and learning about oneself. Did you think every week was going to be so easy, sometimes I have to be the cruel teacher and hand out things that are a little more complex. So this week we are going to do something with science.
The following websites give a lot of great examples of science projects. I'd like you to pick one and tell us about it!
Science Projects
More science projects for various ages
When you have completed your science project - please comment on this blog! Thanks, have fun and bee safe! (Get it, haha?)
Homework Week 4 - Kensington - An InterviewYou are the boss of your very own company. However, you cannot run your company alone. Your homework assignment for this week is to A) Describe your company and B) Hire an employee - which means you need to write a mock interview. What questions would you ask of an employee? What are their tasks? Think about it, this isn't an easy one I know.
When you have completed your homework, please remember to comment on this blog. Have fun with it and don't be afraid to be creative.
Homework Week 4 - Kensington - Your resume! So far this year I've kept the workload a little bit on the light side, but today I thought I'd give you all something a little more challenging. I'd like you to write your resume or cv. No need for some fancy cover letter here, after all do most companies really read that? Naah, it's a technicality and I want to read about your skills and focus on what you are dreaming of doing with your life.
Some of you might not have the most advanced skill set yet, that is ok! Did you mow the neighbors lawn last year? Walk their dog, sure that counts! Do you volunteer somewhere? Help Grandma with the dishes? At the end of your resume I'd like a small piece to be written how you feel your skills will be useful in your career. Make it an open resume, so it is something you could use with applying for any job! Good luck!
As usual please comment on this blog to let me know you have completed your assignment! Thanks!
Week 4: Creative Writing -
Two weeks in a row of heavy assignments and I can tell all of you are in need of stretching your limbs and imaginations. This week's assignment revolves all around you! It's time to get creative and write a story, a song or a poem that reflects upon something in your life.

- Don't try to be funny if you're not funny. ...
- Be honest.
Kensington Homework Week 4 - Opinions and an outing! The homework so far as been pretty heavy this year. So I thought you all could use a bit of a break and we would do something a little more relaxed this week, next week will be back to hitting the books (sorry everyone) and our final week of the year will revolve around an outing.
So as my students I'd like you to write about your opinion of the homework this year, my teaching style or whatever comes to mind about school this year so far.
In addition to giving a valid opinion about the homework I also request you put in a suggestion for where we go on our last weeks outing. So please pick somewhere educational in London you think would be entertaining as a class outing. You will be required to write about our outing in your last weeks homework. The location will be chosen at random from the list you all provide me with.
Keep up that great work everyone and I look forward to reading your blogs.
Please remember to comment on this blog so I can correct your homework.
Homework Week 4 - Kensington Writing SkillsThis week we are going to give you the chance to try out different writing styles. This will allow you to become more aware of how language can change depending on the type of writing that is being attempted.
I will be looking at the following skills: Handwriting legibility and sentence structure based on the style of writing you choose from the following: A blog article, a creative story, a scientific report or an essay on an interesting topic in the media. It's OK to make mistakes, that is part of the idea here so you can grow as a writer. I've seen so many wonderful writers this year and I'd love to give you all a chance to blossom even more!
With this assignment I encourage you to read your classmates assignments and give them positive feedback as well!
Let's not have any of this, relax and enjoy yourself!

When you have completed your assignment please let me know on this blog so I can take a look at it! As always you know I am around if you have any questions or concerns.

Kensington Week 3 - Homework Pizza with an elderly person! (Now that's a twist!)Last week we had an arts and crafts day and a lot of you created some amazing food art! I know one student was really hoping for pizza day, so I'm sort of continuing the food theme this week and combining it with another assignment. Yes, I see the eye rolls at the back of the room, come on now just give it a chance.
This week will be create a pizza week! But you have to take your pizza to share with an elderly person and spend sometime with them. Your assignment will be to write about your pizza and experience sharing pizza with an elderly person.
Now keep in mind some elderly people have very sensitive stomachs and lactose intolerance is common. So don't be offended if they look at you like this:
Because there are plenty of elderly people who will look at you like this:
And maybe some like this:
When you have completed your pizza with an elderly person assignment please remember to comment on this blog! Now get out there and have some fun, you can learn a lot from the elderly! (Don't take me as an example ...)
Kensington Week 4 - Science ProjectsAs the school year begins to wind down it's time we hit the books everyone. I know pizza week was really tough on you all and I'm sure I killed a few brain cells by forcing you all to think so very hard.
But the torture isn't over yet, old Mrs McCarthy has more cruel plans for you all. It's science project week! Remember when working with tools and chemicals to always have an adult around for supervision, while you are all very mature and responsible accidents happen even to the most experienced people out there.
As usual please comment on this blog when you have completed your assignment. I cannot wait to see what you all come up with!
If you could also suggest a field trip for the end of the year, I'm collecting them early this time around to give me enough time to organize it all. Thanks again!
Mrs McCarthy
Homework Kensington Week 3 The History of FoodAfter last week I thought perhaps you all could use a little break and maybe a treat. Now don't get too excited this treat comes at a cost, the cost being homework! Last week Mrs Ready's class worked on the history of food and I thought we might do the same thing this week with our class!
So you will all receive a food item this coming week and your homework will be to research the history of this food. The good thing is you all get to eat your food! Mrs McCarthy does believe in rewarding you all for your hard work.
I'd like an opinion on the new homework direction I'm taking with you all, is this something you would like to see more of? We have often focused our studies on social norms and preparing you for your futures but this year I thought I'd mix it up a little bit more. Don't worry science day is still on!
As usual please comment on this blog when you have completed your assignment so I can get take a look at your homework.
Homework Week 4 - Science ProjectsI know some of you will be excited for this weeks homework! It's time to get your thinking caps on and hand in science projects!
The internet has a lot of great suggestions for various projects and I'm sure you will all surprise me with something great! I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with!
As usual as soon as you have completed your assignment please comment on this blog! Thanks!
Week 5: Self reflection -
The end of the school year is nearly here and it's time for a bit of self reflection. This week you are all required to give up something you value or cherish for the week. This could be your mobile phone, your favorite television program, your daily dose of caffeine or sugary snack but whatever you choose make it something you know you hold dear to yourself. By the end of the week you will report in about how you felt during this week, was it really something that important after all? If so, why?
This isn't an easy assignment for everyone, but just think of how much you can prove to yourself if you make it through the week!
When you have completed your assignment please do not forget to comment on this blog, thank you.
Kensington Homework Week 5 - Starting your career!
Let's hop into the future kids ... it's your first day on the job. At some point all of you will graduate, you will go on to a successful career. I'd like to hear about it. I'd like to hear about your first day on the job. This is about you, highlight your skills, admit to your mistakes. But whatever you do have fun with assignment.
Homework Week 5 - Psychology and your development - KensingtonThis week I'd like you to write your homework in a way that describes who you have become and how you got there. What were the major influences in your life that have made you make the decisions you have made. If you find this too personal, you may feel free to mail me privately with your homework if this is something you do not want to discuss in a blog.
Basically in a nut shell, blog about the things that have made you who you are today.
As usual please comment on this blog when you have completed the homework. My door is always open for questions, comments or general chit chat! Good luck and I look forward to reading about you!
Bonus homework Next week there will be a class trip, please if you have any suggestions on where you would like to go, let me know! Thanks! A treat for each suggestion given!
As usual please comment on this blog to let me know you have completed your assignment. Good luck and again, I'm always here if you are stuck, need someone to talk to or just need a teacher to sit on a thumb tack for a laugh ;)
Homework Week 5 - Kensington - Field trip suggestionsDear class,
Next week will be our last class before vacation begins, so I'd like to start gathering suggestions where you would enjoy going on our daily outing.
Please remember your suggestions have to be appropriate for the class to attend. You will be asked to write about the trip and the things you saw and did.
So this weeks homework is pretty simple, right? In addition if you have any thoughts on how class went this year, I'd love to hear them!
Until next week ... Mrs McCarthy
Please comment on this blog when you have completed the assignment. Thanks!
Homework Week 5 Kensington - Do a good deed!Welcome to class everyone,
This week's homework has two parts. First of all, you will be required to go out and perform a random good deed this week for someone and tell the class about it in your blog. Not so hard is it? This could be anything from picking up some trash in the park (please use gloves) to helping an elderly person across the street if they require it. You could visit a neighbor and help them rake up their leaves or mow the lawn for them.
The second part of your homework will be to give a suggestion for our yearly field trip which happens next week! So get those realistic suggestions in! I'm always excited to hear your ideas!
When you have completed your homework as usual please comment on this blog.
Mrs McCarthy
Homework Week 5 KensingtonSo far this year, I think I've gone pretty easy on you all. So, this week it's a 3 part homework assignment. *watches you all run for your lives* Relax, relax it isn't as bad as you think it is.
First assignment: Try playing a musical instrument, maybe some of you already do? I want to hear all about your musical experiment. It can be as simple as a rubber band on the back of a tissue box and pluck away at it. Just try something different and see hey maybe I like this!
Second assignment: Give up something you enjoy for a day. I heard from a former student of mine, how much they valued a lesson like this. Originally this came out of doing something for the planet, but I'm letting you pick your cause here. Something you love and think you cannot live without - just one day and tell me about it!
Third assignment: Next week we are heading on a class field trip! But it's your trip, so drop me a suggestion where you would like to go and do remember part of the field trip will be writing about it!
As usual when you are done your homework - please comment on this blog! Thanks!
Homework Week 5 - Musical SkillsIt's week 5 everyone, the school year is coming to an end! Before we know it prom will be here.
This week we are going to focus on your personal musical skills. Now I know some of you are thinking you cannot play an instrument and you don't really care to play an instrument. So those of you without musical flair may also write a poem in place of performing a piece for the class.
Your poem does have to be related to the subject of music.
One last request since prom is coming up in not so very long if you could kindly suggest a prom friendly song you enjoy that would be great. Thanks!
Now it is time for this old teacher to kick back and watch the show.
Homework Week 5As the year begins to come to an end I thought I'd let you all show off your creative skills. Your homework could be something about music, poetry, art, dance whatever you choose just set your creative spirits free and show off all your skills!
I know you can do it, each and every one of you has some kind of special talent and you are all such creative individuals that I have had the pleasure of watching grow.
In addition to this please take a moment to suggest an outing for our final class of the year next week.
When you have completed your assignment please remember to comment on this blog, thanks!
Homework Week 5 - Kensington Yr 102This is our last week with a big homework assignment, next week we will be heading out on a field trip and preparing for prom, so part of your homework this week will be field trip suggestions along with spending a day with an elderly person or someone in need of assistance. Since the short stories went over so well I thought once again we could test your creative skills and you could write us a short story about how you spent your day helping out someone in need.
It's completely up to you if you stick to the facts about your day or go off the rails and lead us into a world of something magical, scary, adventurous or completely bizarre.
When you have completed your assignment please do not forget to comment on this blog, thank you.
Homework Week 5 - Year 103 KensingtonAs the year comes close to an end it's time for most of us to begin thinking about our futures. This weeks homework assignment will involve you making a plan for after graduation.
This isn't as difficult as it might seem at first. No one have a panic attack and break out into tears please and thank you.
You are simply required this week to list three things you would like to do after graduation. This includes those of you who are not graduating this year.
For example you could list that you plan to surf the world or you plan to get your first paying job. This is is about focusing on your futures and sparking some ideas within yourselves.
In addition to this week's homework I am also taking suggestions for our field trip which will happen on Week 6.
When you have completed your homework please do not forget to comment on this blog, thank you.

Homework Week 6 - Kensington Year 102Here we are at the end of another year, it's been a marvelous year with you all and how I've enjoyed watching you grow and reading your assignments. This last week is a pretty simple one, thanks to Colin I've organized a field trip to a record studio where you will all get to see what it is like behind the scenes of making music. Maybe if you are lucky and all well behaved the studio might even let you record something of your own!
Your assignment for the last week of homework for Year 102 is to have fun and share with us what you learned at the record studio. In addition I'd like to hear for what you all have planned during the break or for some of you it will be the beginning of a new stage of your life. Have you made plans? If so what are they?
I am wishing you all a wonderful Holiday season and for those of you heading off on your own, please don't forget to pop by from time to time as I'd love to hear how you are all doing.

Enjoy your vacation and remember each and every one of you are special and amazing.

Homework Week 6 - Field Trip!I cannot believe it is already the end of the year. You have all been very tolerant of me this year and I cannot thank you enough, helping me carry my briefcase into class as I waddle around with this baby belly. It makes me sad to see the end of the year is here already and so many of you will be moving on. I hope I have left you with positive memories, morals and values that you will take with you in your future. I know you will all do so very well, it has been my pleasure to watch you grow as individuals. Keep up the amazing work and the same goes for my returning students I do hope you all know how much of an impact you have had on my life as a teacher and I treasure each day with you all.

Kensington Week 6 - Homework - An Outing!Well everyone the year is almost up and I want to thank you all for being such wonderful students and giving it your best. Some of you I will be saying goodbye to as you are finishing school and heading out into the world. I wish you all the best and do hope I hear from you from time to time. Keep in touch, all of you have touched my heart in one way or another. You can do it, I believe in you.
As for the new students for next year and the repeat students, remember my inbox is always open for you to talk with me about whatever you need. I try my best to be flexible and assist with the assignments whenever needed.
Now onto the assignment. Today we are going to head *drumroll please* to the beach! Thanks to Leon for his suggestion. All suggestions were put in a hat and I picked the first one that came out of the hat.
At the beach I'd like you to write about one thing from the day that has stuck out in your head and how you can apply that thought to your future. So say you saw a starfish and it gave you a happy feeling. Use that in your future on a rainy day, treasure that memory or feeling. It can be as simple as a sparkling grain of sand, or that delicious milk shake from the stand nearby. Have fun with it!!!
Please comment on my blog when you have completed your homework! All the best Mrs McCarthy

Kensington Week 6 - Class Trip Homework
To wrap up this year which I realize has been difficult for a lot of us, there has been a lot of changing of teachers in various classes and it has truly been an emotional year. I wanted to really let you all go nuts and have a really good time.
So we are off to an amusement park for the entire day and into the evening! I've got a booth ready for various arts and crafts for whomever wants to join, hot air balloon rides have also been organized and a class supper starting at 5 pm, afterwards you are welcome to go home once signing out with me or stay and continue to have fun into the evening.
Your homework is simply to have fun and write about what you did on our class trip. It's been a tough year, let us all enjoy ourselves on this trip and get ready for the holidays with your families and friends.
As always please comment on this blog when you are done with your homework. To those students graduating and heading out into the world this year, I wish you all the best and thank you for being part of this class. I've enjoyed getting to know you! To those staying on, I look forward to our future adventures together next year!

Homework Week 3 Kensington - Charity Work! Year 96Great work last week on your artistic perceptions, I have to say I was highly impressed with everyone's work you all showed a lot of talent.
This week we are going to think about things other than ourselves and see what we can all learn from the experiences we take on. You will each pick a charity and volunteer there for the week assisting in whatever needs to be done. That could be going door to door and collecting money for a charity, it could mean helping out at the animal shelter an old folks home or kitchen for the homeless. I leave it all up to you to decide where you will volunteer for five days this week and come back to me with what you all have learned from volunteering.
At the end of the week please report back here when you have finished your homework assignment. I am really looking forward to hearing about all of your experiences. Good luck and have fun!
Homework Week 4 - Kensington - ResearchThis week you will each be handed a random item and you are expected to write a report about what this item is and where it came from and what it does. So in other words describe your random item in depth. You might find out something about your item you never knew!
A rock isn't always just a rock, sometimes it's a gateway to the imagination.
I know a lot of you are busy with various sporting events around the globe at this moment I hope you are all enjoying yourselves out there and playing nice with others, remember in the end it is only a game.
When you have completed your homework please remember to comment on this blog. I'll try not to make the objects too boring.
Homework Week 5 - Kensington - Making music the scientific method! This week I'm going to get a little tough with you all and toss you a curve ball where you may all have to toss on those thinking caps.
Let us make some music by conducting scientific experiments!
I am more than curious to see what you all come up with on this one. The website mentioned is only a guide, feel free to have fun with this you are here to learn not to be judged unfairly for trying. Do your best and make me proud I know you can do it.
As usual please remember to comment on this blog when you have completed your assignment, thank you.
Homework Week 6 - KensingtonAnother year has come and gone it's hard to believe how quickly a year goes by. Take care and don't forget to drop by and keep me up to date on your lives.
This week's homework is pretty simple as Mrs McCarthy won't be attending prom this year unfortunately your homework is to write about what you hope for prom night. Do you have dreams of dancing with a certain someone? Or showing off the most amazing outfit ever?

Homework Week 1 - Kensington IntroductionsWelcome back Kensington everyone. For those of you returning to my class I hope you all had a great vacation and are ready to help out all the new students and get them used to things around here.
This week we will keep it simple, because I am also late with the homework. My sincere apologies for the delay. The homework is simple introduce yourself to everyone and share what you did during your vacation.
I know even the kids who never do their homework can handle that task.
When you have completed your homework please comment on this blog, thank you.
Mrs McCarthy
Homework Week 2 Kensington - An Artistic challengeIt's week 2 already and here I am actually posting the homework on time. I bet there are a few of you who are wishing the homework would have been late again.
This week we are going to give up something we enjoy and to make it a bit more of a challenge I would like you to express the thing you gave up in some form of art. Art is what you make it out to be, it can be a painting, a sculpture, a drawing a photograph that you took somewhere just set your imaginations free and see what you can come up with.
Mrs McCarthy will be giving up video games this week. Yes, you heard me correctly a week without shooting zombies is going to be incredibly difficult for this old lady. I'm already feeling the itch as I write out your assignment. So you aren't alone in your suffering we all must give up something we enjoy and express is artistically.
I tried to make a little zombie out of clay to get me through the week, but after making just the head I realized this task was even to difficult for me. Even teachers suffer sometimes.
When you have completed your assignment, please remember to comment on this blog! Thanks and good luck this week!
Homework Week 3 - Kensington The History of foodThis week for your homework you will all be handed a random item of food and will need to write about this particular food and it's origins.

As usual please comment on this blog when you have completed your assignment so I can get take a look at your homework.
Homework Week 4 - Sharing is Caring! KensingtonFirst of all I want to say what a great job everyone did with their history of food assignments last week. I admit this year I was slightly more kind than in previous years and I gave no one the assignment of 'the history of salad'.
To keep the homework light and enjoyable I've decided upon 'sharing is caring' day where we all bring in a food item to share with the class. But here is the catch, your assignment is to write about a food item someone else brought in and why you enjoyed it so much. I'm hoping this assignment will help you all become a little more familiar with one another and perhaps make some new friends.
When you have completed sampling the food of others in the class, please write your essay and remember to comment on this blog, thanks! Happy eating!

While I'm excited for you to move on and start your lives it's always a bit sad for me to watch you leave. For those of you heading off towards new adventures I wish you all the best and truly hope you learned a lot while you were with me.
For those of you staying on with me I look forward to our continued adventures next year and hope that I can help you all grow into young and strong adults ready to take on the world.
Our homework for this week is a simple lesson of what do you hope for the coming year of your life? What plans and goals have you set out for yourselves? Are there things you will take from your time at Kensington to make those goals happen?

Or you can pick and choose an experiment and present it to the class.

When you have completed your assignment for the week please remember to comment on this blog, thanks!
Homework Week 4 - Surprise Field Trip!Every year we wait until the end of the year to go on our field trip, you all seem to have a case of ants in your pants by that time of year so I thought you know what, let's mix it up a bit this year.
So grab your buckets and shovels, your beach towels, sunscreen and sunglasses because here we go. However, being the old and cruel teacher I am there will still be homework involved.
Your homework is to build something in the sand! Not just any sand sculpture mind you, since Zombie Days are next week you must build a sand sculpture that would somehow go along with Zombie Days. I leave it up to your imaginations to explain your creations.
See below my inspiring example!
As usual when you have completed your assignment please remember to comment on this blog, thank you!
Homework Week 5 - Kensington Book ReportsWe are very close to the end of the year now, so it's time to hit the books so to speak especially after last week's Zombie Adventures in the sand!
I am providing you all with a list of books you may choose from to do your report on. I know it seems like a week is a short amount of time to read an entire book but if you set your minds to it, you can get it done!

I want to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season and all the best wishes to my graduating students. Your futures are so bright, you are all so talented and I just know you will go very far in life.
For those of you returning to my class next year remember my inbox is always open for suggestions or if you need someone to talk with about things remember I'm always available to lend an ear.
Our last homework for the year 98 will be you writing a letter to your future self with advice that you believe you might need 10 years from now. Many of you might be looking at career changes, relationships becoming serious or perhaps even contemplating having children in 10 years time. What advice do you believe you will need at that point and time?
When you have completed your assignment please remember to comment on this blog, thank you and all my best wishes to everyone!
Homework Year 99 Kensington IntroductionsI want to welcome you all to Kensington, many of you are familiar faces and many of you are new here. As tradition we always have the first week's lesson dedicated to introducing yourself to the class.
So if you would please tell us a little bit about yourself and your hopes for the coming year both personally and academically.
I'm Mrs McCarthy and I've been teaching here at Kensington for many years now. If you have any questions, concerns or just need someone to talk with my door is always open to help however I can.
When you have completed your introduction please remember to comment on this blog, thank you!
Here is to a great year ahead of us!
Homework Week 2 - Arts and CraftsNow that everyone has had a chance to get acquainted with one another it's time to get to work. Don't worry I won't torture you with some hefty homework, I realize you are still getting into the swing of things so prepare yourself as next week is torture week, all right? Clear your agendas and get ready to hit the books!
This week it's your chance to be creative. Art is not only that clay ashtray you made for Dad or gluing a few sticks together and tossing on a layer of spray paint calling it an abstract statue. It also involves music, poetry, short stories and more.
I will not accept a baked potato with a fork in it titled 'Stick a fork in me I'm done' but other than that I'm pretty easy going. How I know I just opened up a can of worms here and now expect fruit or vegetables with forks in them. (NTS: I really should review my homework assignments before handing them out.)
When you have completed your creative piece please provide me with an explanation of your creativity and as usual please remember to comment on this blog, thank you!
Kensington Week 3 Homework - What is this?Halfway through the year and many of you have not fled the country, I'm impressed and must be doing something right this year!
This week I'm going to make you think about everyday items and how they came to be and what are their uses? For example when the mini skirt hit the scene it caused quite the stir in the world and was a turning point in society!
Suggested information in your report should be:
- When was it invented
- What is it used for
- Where there any significant moments in history surrounding this item
- Is this something you would ever use and why
When you have completed your assignment please remember to comment on this blog, thank you!
Homework Week 4 Kensington - Zombie DaysAll right everyone, we are over the halfway mark now, I bet you are already dreaming of prom and the upcoming holidays!
This week since it is Zombie Days I know many of you are busy with the events so I'd like to keep in theme with the events in our city and have you do a creative Zombie report.
You can choose from writing from the following:
- a short story
- a poem
- facts about zombies (?)
I'm looking forward to reading what you all come up with and have fun out there this week, stay safe!
As usual when you have completed your assignment, do not forget to comment on this blog please and thanks!
Homework Week 5 - Kensington Your Favorite MusicThis year has really flown by, I cannot believe we are already at week 5. This week as prom plans begin to happen I'd like you all to bring in a song to share with the class and tell us all exactly what it is you like about the song. Please remember this is school and the song should be appropriate and nothing too vulgar or over the top, mind the language you know?
Perhaps we can add your favorite song to the prom playlist. I want to hear what exactly it is that speaks to you about the song, is it something that makes you just happy and want to dance around or is it something more personal you would feel comfortable sharing with the class.
Songs can teach us a lot about life, they can open up new avenue's of ideas for us and inspire us to do great things. So let's get listening, join in with your bongo drums and have yourself a laugh!
When you have completed your homework, please remember to comment on this blog, thanks!

As for those of you who will be returning, I look forward to seeing you all next year and hearing about your holidays.
Now onto our last homework, it's time to speak your mind! Are there things about this year you think could have been done in another way? Positive and negative feedback is always appreciated so we here at London Schools can do our best to improve on our system and keep you all as happy as possible.
In addition what have you planned for your upcoming Holidays?
When you have completed your assignment do not forget to comment on this blog, thanks!
Also a reminder that prom is coming up on February 25th! Don't forget to register!
Homework Week 1 Kensington Introductions*waits for everyone to settle down before she begins to speak*
Welcome to Kensington everyone, I see a lot of familiar faces this year and plenty of new faces too. I'm Mrs McCarthy your teacher here at Kensington, if you have any questions or thoughts you want to share please know my door is always open to assist you with whatever you may need.
Now as usual the first week we would like everyone to introduce themselves to the class, I know for you older students this can be a bit boring but the new students here don't know you and perhaps you have picked up some new hobbies you would care to share with the class or tell us about your holiday season.
This year also marks Year 100 which is a special year indeed! So I was thinking you could list 100 things about you!
*snorts laughing*
Oh excuse me I must have caught a cold this holiday season.
*clears throat*
I'm kidding, I'm kidding how about we do 10 things about you and if possible for something a little out of the box you do it in Pirate Lingo! Come on give it a try and live a little.
As usual when you have completed your homework please remember to leave a comment here so I can discuss your assignment with you personally, thank you!

Homework Week 2 Kensington History ReportThis week the magic eight ball decided that you all would dive into history once again and hand in a short history report about a historical figure or location.
There are three points to discuss in your history report:
- Who is the person you are writing about/What is the location you are writing about.
- What makes this person or place significant in history.
- Is this person or place still alive or a valid location and if so what happened to him/her/said location.
If you have any questions about the assignment please do not hesitate to contact me and as usual when you have completed your assignment please remember to comment on this blog, thank you.
Homework Week 3 - Kensington - Book Reportsooc sorry this is early, but I'll mostly be offline working from Sunday-Tuesday so I thought better to post this early than too late. Please be patient with the books I'll hand out to you all, thank you.
It's that time of year again where we get to relax with our favorite music playing while we open a good book at get to write a really enjoyable review about the book, sounds fun right and I bet all of your are just eager to get out there and start reading! I'll provide you with a list of books to review. It is your choice which book you choose and in addition you will receive a random book from me which is yours to do with as you deem appropriate.
Writing the Review:
Include title and author
Hook the reader with your opening sentence. Set the tone of the review. A short plot summary will do.
Review the book you read -- in other words, give you opinion and why. After all if this is the greatest book why not share that knowledge. Also if it is the worst book you have ever read, save someone's time so they can do something a lot more enjoyable with their life.
When you have completed your assignment please do not forget to comment on this blog, thank you.
Homework Week 4 Kensington Creative WritingIt's hard to believe it is already week 4 of the year 100 but here we are and I thought I'd let you express yourself through some creative writing:
Your creative writing can be a story about someone famous perhaps you encounter on a street corner one evening?
Select a word from this list and let it inspire you: Inhale, mirror, forbidden, picture, elastic, camera, necklace, football, cello, desk.
Choose a place and write about, it doesn't have to be reality.
Write about an event in time.
Or
I thought I had to be normal. (Take that sentence and set your imagination free).
When you have completed your assignment please remember to comment on this blog, thank you.
Homework Week 5 Kensington - Give up something for one weekThe year is quickly coming to an end and it won't be long now until grad and many of you will be leaving us, every year I watch you all grow into unique and wonderful individuals who I have welcomed into my heart.
This week we will focus on each of you selecting something to give up that you personally enjoy. It is a week of sacrifice and self reflection to see what exactly you can learn by giving up something you treasure. This could be a food, a game, a tv program, your bicycle, cosmetics whatever you find that maybe you could live without for a week but it's something you use on a regular basis.
When you have completed your assignment please do not forget to comment on this blog. I hope you enjoy this week of self reflection because as we grow life is filled with lessons.
Homework Week 6 - Field TripAnother year comes to an end and I will see many of you for the last time in these hallways today. You have all earned a special place in my heart and I wish you all the best on your journey's in life. For those of you returning to me next year, have a wonderful vacation and I look forward to seeing you all at prom.
Now as for our final lesson you have all worked so hard this year you deserve to have some fun. So I've organized a trip with London Duck Tours for all of us to go and see the city in a unique and fun way together. Your homework is simple, let us know about your day out with the class!
As usual when you have completed your assignment please remember to comment on this blog and don't forget to register for prom!
Homework Yr 101 Week 1 - Kensington IntroductionsA new year is upon us and I'd like to welcome you all to Kensington. I'm Mrs McCarthy and have been teaching here at Kensington for many years now and look forward to watching you all learn and grow while you are in my class.
To not overwhelm you all and let you all get comfortable with the school and one another the first week's homework is always an introduction assignment.
So if you could please tell the class a little bit about yourself who you are, where you come from, some of your interests and your ambitions for the coming year that would be greatly appreciated.
As usual when you are finished with your homework please do remember to comment on this blog, thank you.
In addition please remember to turn on blog comments, thank you!

Homework Week 5 Kensington Arts and CraftsThe end of Year 101 is quickly approaching and I hope you have all enjoyed yourselves this year, next week will be week 6 and I am taking suggestions for the yearly field trip. Please leave your ideas in your homework or in the comments section below.
For this week's homework I thought I'd let you indulge your artistic sides. Art comes in many forms so please don't all have a panic attack and begin thinking you have to paint the greatest oil painting ever known to mankind. Art can be a photograph, music, glue two sticks together and call it interpretive art. It's all up to you to create something and explain to the class what your piece is.
When you have completed your assignment please do remember to comment on this blog, thank you.
Homework Week 6 field tripIt is hard to believe this is our last class for the year 101, where did the time go? I hope you all had an enjoyable time this year in my class. Of course your opinions count too so if you have any suggestions or thoughts on this year, now in your last assignment of the year would be the best time to get those opinions out there.
In addition to giving your opinion about the class we are headed out on a field trip, this year we are attending Cirque Berserk. Cirque Berserk! is an interactive show – you can take as many photos and videos as you like so feel free to share them with the class in your homework assignment.
It is always a sad week for me, watching you all grow is truly a treasure. For those of you graduating I wish you all the best in the future and don't hesitate to drop by for a visit anytime. For those of you returning to me next year, have yourselves a wonderful holiday season.
Lastly don't forget to sign up for prom! I cannot wait to see you all there dressed in your finest clothes and having a wonderful night to celebrate everything about you!
Homework Week 3 Kensington Year 102We are at the halfway mark already everyone, where does the time go?
This week's homework is going to revolve around short stories and testing your creative writing skills. However, being that the Kraken will return, we are heading into Zombie Fest to celebrate Day of the Dead your stories must revolve around something supernatural. Last week you all did a great job on writing about planets, stars and aliens so perhaps it would be an idea to expand on your homework from the week before?
Whatever you decide to write on I challenge you to make it spooky enough that old Mrs McCarthy here will be sleeping with the lights on!
Have fun!
Don't forget if you want to sign up for Zombie Fest events and are under 16 you can sign up directly with me and I will pass on your information to Mr Squier, more detailed information is in our school bulletin or in my previous blog.
-please comment on this blog once you have completed your assignment, thank you.-
Homework Week 4 - Kensington Yr 102I have to say last week I was blown away with your short stories, I'm still sleeping with the hallway light on after reading all of those spooky stories.
This week we will will head back into the realm of science, but I thought it might be fun to challenge you on a musical level too. Here is a website with various examples of projects to try involving music and science. However, I respect that for some of you music isn't your thing or science just makes your head ache. So if you prefer you may attempt any other science project you find educational or you can write a song, a poem or hand in something creative that expresses something scientific. If you want to write a poem about how you find chemical equations incredibly boring, that's also acceptable.
But whatever you do, please no more spooky stories this week or I may never sleep again.
Show spoiler
When you have completed your assignment please do not forget to comment on this blog thank you.
Homework Year 103 KensingtonA big welcome back to all of my returning students, I hope you had a wonderful holiday season, it's good to see so many of you again it always amazes me how much you all grow in such a short period of time.
Of course also a big welcome to all my new students, many of you are familiar with me due to coming from Eton, where my daughter Ms Ready teaches, but for those of you who might not be familiar with me, I'm Mrs McCarthy now in the halls you might hear rumors that I'm all plastic and perhaps some kind of red haired witch with her 1001 children but rest assured I'm all natural and have never even see The Wizard of Oz, so witchcraft is something I know very little about. While I do have a large family, 1001 children is perhaps a slight exaggeration.
Now that I've told you a bit about myself, it's your turn to tell the class about yourselves. In addition it would be wonderful to hear how all of you spent your vacation season. Please don't forget the new school system if you want to participate in sporting events within the school you must be registered for classes, thank you and I look forward to getting to know all of you just a little bit better.
When you have completed your assignment please do not forget to comment on this blog, thank you.
Homework Week 2 Kensington Year 103Now that we have all had the opportunity to get to know one another a little better it's time to hit the books. This week we will be doing research on various plants. You will all be given a plant to research, this might be edible and it might not be. It's your job to tell us all about this marvelous plant. Is it purely decorative, edible, medicinal? Plants are wonderful things and can teach us so much about the world we live in, so get those text books out and start researching!
When you have completed your assignment please do not forget to comment on this blog, thank you!
Homework Week 3 Year 103 KensingtonIt's time to let your creative sides shine as this week's assignment is all about art's and crafts. Now what is art to some might not be art to other's. My personal opinion is art is in the Eye of the Beholder. So if gluing toothpicks together randomly strikes your fancy and you believe it to be art, make it so!
Art comes in many shapes and forms, not only in that clump of clay you molded together to give your 95 year old Grandmother as an ash tray even though she's never even held a cigarette. Art is also music, art is also a photograph and so much more.
I am looking forward to seeing what you all come up with.
When you have completed your assignment please do not forget to comment on this blog, thank you.

Homework Week 4 - Kensington Yr 103What is science? a systematically organized body of knowledge on a particular subject.
This week your assignment is to put your heads together and show off those science skills. Now some of these experiments listed on the following website might seem a little too easy for some of you, so please feel free to pick another science experiment that suits your style.

Week 2 Homework Kensington Year 104 History ReportsWeek 2: History Report -
Now that you have all had a little bit of time to settle into a routine here at school it's time to dive into our homework full force.
